Varesh, a Gilaki restaurant designed by the Barabar Groups, represents the complete transformation of a former fast-food space, two-level dining experience. The design objective was to recreate the

essence of Gilan, bringing the atmosphere of Iran’s northern region into the heart of Karaj.

The design concept draws its identity from the word “Varesh”, meaning rain in the Gilaki language. Rain becomes the guiding narrative of the project, flowing through every layer of the design. The result is an environment that evokes memory, culture, and the sensory character of the north,

reinterpreted through a modern architectural lens.
